This article is for candidates who feel that their performances was affected on the day of the test, and/or centres applying on the behalf of candidates.
Please note: Special Consideration requests should be made in the first instance by the centre with the candidate’s agreement; candidates can also make an application directly but should check with their centre first.
If you think something might have affected your performance during your test, such as temporary illness/injury or problems with the administration of the test, you can apply for special consideration.
If you are a candidate, contact your centre right away, as Special Consideration requests should be made in the first instance by the centre with the candidate’s agreement. An exception to this would be if the Special Consideration is due to a fault at the school or college, for example, if Access Arrangements have not been provided: in this scenario, the candidate can make an application directly.
Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing will consider the circumstances and may, at our discretion, advise the institution(s) of the severity of the Special Consideration. The decision to take the Special Consideration into account or not is at the discretion of the institution(s). No adjustment will be made to the your results.
*Please note, we are only able to pass on special consideration notifications to the universities that officially accept results from the exams.
