This article contains frequently asked questions for those centres running admissions tests on 31 October who are on half term at the time.
Our centre is closed for half term. Can we run the tests on another day?
No. Admissions tests must be run on the scheduled date. The standard scheduled exam date is 31 October 2018, however, for countries where the local start time is marked as "F D" (due to time zone differences) you should run the tests on the following day (1 November). You can find local start times here.
For cases where a candidate has a valid reason for requesting a change of start time (such as a clash between two tests), please review the Timetable Variation guidance.
We are closed and have no staff on site during half term. How can we receive our exam materials?
You can find full information on the despatch of October session test materials can be found here. If you have not yet received your materials, please ensure that a member of staff is available at your centre to receive delivery of the papers.
If your centre is closed and nobody is available when the courier attempts delivery they will retain the materials and leave a note asking you to arrange a re-delivery.
If you have not received your exam materials by Tuesday 30 October please contact us.
Our students are on a school trip on 31 October. How can they sit their tests?
Students are not restricted to test centres in their local area, so it is possible for students to take their test at a centre that is in another location if necessary.
Many of our staff are on holiday. How many staff members do we need on the day?
You will need at least one suitably qualified and experienced invigilator for every 25 candidates. You must have enough invigilators to supervise every room in which candidates are taking their tests.
Our centre will be closed after the tests. When can we return our materials?
As a centre we need you to send your admissions testing materials back to us using your tracked DHL waybill within 24 hours of the admissions tests. Please make arrangements for collection as soon as you possibly can.
When you receive your centre's materials, you will also receive a DHL waybill. As soon as you have this you can contact DHL, quoting the waybill number, to arrange a collection. We would recommend organising this as early as possible to guarantee the most suitable collection window. A guide to returning materials can be found here.
Any delays in returning the materials could cause delays in processing the candidates' materials and the release of their results.
